Becoming a part of the fpoe (female photographers of etsy) group has introduced me to a whole new community of creatives who inspire, challenge and encourage each other everyday. One of the wonderful projects the group organizes is Miss Match, a diptych photo essay of sorts. Every week there are new partnerships, new themes, new images matched together as an expression of creativity.
This past week was the first time I took part, and well, I think I may be hooked. I was partnered with a talented artist out of Orange County, Barbara Gordon – and our assigned theme was: Romantic. When I initially saw the assignment list I half laughed to myself – I mean romantic? me, really? There are many a night I find granola bar crumbs in my bra and smashed banana in my hair – not quite the portrait of va-va-voom. And as I sat and thought about what it is I think of as “romantic”, the image below isĀ honestly what popped into my head. I’m just grateful Barbara was game to play along.
So tell me friends, what says wo-mance to you?
