Absence = Fonder?

What do you think – does absence truly make the heart fonder? Or, does absence breed apathy and forgetfulness over what we had to begin with?

Following some MUCH needed time together with Rob while he took time away from work, I’m leaning toward the latter. Three weeks ago I’d have told you I could take the time together or leave it really – life had simply hit that pace. I wasn’t stopping long enough to appreciate the history of our relationship, and as a result, was unknowingly chipping away at the future of it.

And while we weren’t soaking in the beach at a fabulous resort or other exotic adventures, we had an amazing time being together. talking. being silent. laughing. remembering. Remembering why we are so great together in the first place, and remembering this thing they call love and marriage can’t be run on instinct all the time. It requires of us, and we are so much greater and stronger and happier when we respond.

The guy who made me this yummy drink and brought home these flowers is back in the office this week. . . and I miss having him around.
