It is peculiar to me in the thirty-some summers I have watched roll in, many of the season’s hallmarks still surprise me every year when May days bloom into June. The smell of the air immediately following a rain shower or the way the first sight of fireflies at dusk can make eyes sting with a gamut of memories from childhood adventure to good ol’ grown-up regret. The fireflies’ early summer dance – fleeting yet widely treasured. Much like the days of youth, barefoot in creeks, chasing after toads, pausing just a moment to capture the fleeting into firefly jars…
Every season brings its own beauty, but for now reunited with days of hazy, playful shoots of summer, I am inspired and grateful. More images soon from my recent session with the beautiful Kroeker family- here is one moment fleeting. May it inspire your own summer story.
