Asher Basher, 9 months big

Emma started calling her baby brother by the above name a few months back, but it wasn’t until recently he really started to own it. I have a feeling “Basher” is going to stick. This development should make my mother happy given she’s been drilling me since his conception, as to what Asher’s nickname would be. This should also mean her oh so subtle suggestions can stop. . . but I digress.

Mr. Ash has turned 9-months old and overnight we have had to “boy-proof” our house. I find the term “child-proof” too broad because Emma never required we do much of that – I don’t recall her even giving an outlet or power cord a second glance. Now Asher on the other hand could be set in the middle of a room full of toys only to crawl over and around them to get to the lamp cord in the corner. It has been a couple of weeks now of overturned trash cans, art projects eaten and exclamations of, “Did you remember to close the baby gate?!?” Honestly, it all reminds me of owning a puppy, and I can almost see the heads of boy parents everywhere nodding in agreement and understanding.

Congrats Asher. . . on surviving that whole birth thing, those ROUGH first months of re-flux, the force that is your big sister and the mastering of crawling faster than some of your relatives drive.

Mama loves you, Asher Basher.

Crystal The more I look at these, the more I love them. There’s one of him that looks so much like Rob – and the one from up above with him on the grass is awesome. The color is amazing!
